Three months late with a post on here but anyway……..Alien Isolation won the Bafta for Best Audio!! Massive congrats to the audio team, it’s fully deserved. Would of been lovely to pick up a few of those other nominations but congrats to all the other winners that did. As promised … Read More

Here’s hoping tomorrow I can post up a very cheesy photo of myself looking dapper and … Read More
Completely forgot to mention this in my big and very late previous entry … When A:I was released I was lucky enough to be offered the opportunity to do a blog post for PlayStation with my colleague Tobias Kleanthous. One of our main focuses during the project was the character locomotion and we … Read More
Hello….is anybody out there??? On October 7th 2014 the game I have been animating on for 3 and a half years, Alien Isolation, was officially released on XBox360, XBoxOne, PS3, PS4 and PC. Really enjoyed this. A lot of online animation schools out there now which is great to see. Been particularly impressed with some iAnimate reels recently and seems like those guys and these are really nailing some unique but reality grounded performances from their students. Some fantastic attention to detail in … Read More
Outstanding reel. Rise of the Planet of the Apes Reel from Philip To on Vimeo.
Wow, so impressive. Great variety and some parts are so well done you’d question whether it was animated if it wasn’t already featuring in a reel:
Wow…just wow. This guy should be so proud of the work he’s produced, so many iconic pieces in there. Enjoy:
Found @Cartoon Brew So good, really enjoyed the first film and can’t wait for this. Would love to work on something with this much variety. Just a link to the video I’m afraid, has restrictions: https://vimeo.com/76568214
MASSIVE SPOILERS!!! Do not watch if you haven’t seen any of the show. If you haven’t seen the show yet, please do. It is quite rightly banded about as the best TV show ever! Beautifully edited tribute, this just gave me the Heisenberg fix I needed after it finished 🙁
Awesome stop motion short film. Boys(or girls) and their toys: Micro Mayhem! from Stoopid Buddy Stoodios on Vimeo.
Looks so lush! I reckon it would of been great fun to work on this. Definitely one to play with my daughter when she gets a bit older: Found @ Spungella
Really nice reel, some fantastic 1st person animations in there: Marcellis Wentz – 2012 Gameplay Animation Reel – Halo 4 from Marcellis Wentz on Vimeo. Found @ onAnimation
Another outstanding short to come out of Gobelins l’école de l’image. In a medium in which we see a lot of recycled and re-skinned material, it’s refreshing that the work that comes out of this school is not only artistically outstanding but full of imagination. So often rules/conventions/reality when coming … Read More

Mentally busy at work right now, so the few amount of posts I do make has become….well….even fewer. Still have time for joys like this though:
Some one sent this round at work, there’s a whole bunch of them if you click the the image. They’re all absolutely wonderful, however I still get that instinct that I get when watching 3D films of wanting to peer round them and then being disappointed!
Absolutely love this, well worthy of it’s oscar nom:
I rememeber reading about this book a while back and wanted to get it then. Well they’ve just released it as a free e-book http://www.squeezestudio.com/animation-insiders/ So much great info in there
